REJUVENATION: PLAN YOUR OPERATION

Aging affects very different to each person. The beginning of the process depends on individual factors and external conditioners, for example the type of work.

Is frequent to visit a person around 30-40 years with  initial signs of aging and that has doubts about if he/she is even too young to begin with the aesthetic surgery, specially for operations like lifting.

The following protocol could serves as orientation:

  1. Between the 20 and 30 years:  the first signs are related to small fat deposits or expression wrinkles due to hyperactivity of a muscle. The botulinic toxin (BOTOX), small fillings with biopolimers or small liposuctions are indicated at this moment.
  2. Between the 30 and 40 years: certain changes begin to become clear, like deepening of the furrows (nasogenian folda), bags of the eyes, crow’s feet, or flaccidity of the tissues. At this moment we can undertake:
    1. Eyelid Surgery. In the lower eyelids a transconjunctival removal of the fat bags associated or not with a peeling can rejuvenate the orbital area. Middle third repositioning can be done to improve the malar area and smooth the nasogenian fold
    2. Botox for crow`s feet  or wrinkles of forehead
    3. Nasogenian furrows: filling or middle third lifting
    4. Neck: liposuction

At this time it is also common to undergo procedures such as liposuction of abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs; or the correction of breasts after the pregnancies (mastopexy).

  1. Between the 40 and 50 years: the changes are more accentuated. The commonest operations at this time are:
    1. Foreheadplasty with or without blefaroplastia, to treat the periorbital zone that determines the sad and/or tired look
    2. Neck liposuction and/or
    3. Cervicofacial Lifting to treat the cutaneous flaccidity and the lack of definition of mandible and neck
    4. Lip enhancement
    5. Rhinoplasty if the nasal tip begins to fall
    6. Dermabrasion for the small wrinkles of the lips.
  2. As of the 60 years: there is a greater cutaneous flaccidity. It is the moment for performing a complete facelift if it has not been done, along with filling. If lifting had been already practiced, can be the moment for a secondary lift.
